This article is about five people who were killed in Bogota, the capitol of Colombia. Two women, two men, and a five year old girl were killed in Bogota, shot with their throats slit. This is thought to be the work of the FARC, a guerrilla army, or Los Rastrojos, a drug gang made up of former militiamen. The FARC is recognized by the U.S. as a terrorist organization. This incident shows the problem this area is having with violence at the time.
P.S, i just bought Wavin' Flag by K'naan and Waka Waka by Shakira in spanish for my ipod and i lovee these spanish songs :)
Kaci,
ReplyDeleteThat is a very sad story, but unfortunately I think it is something that happens all too often throughout South America. There is often times opposition groups (to the government) who take these extreme and horrific measures to try and prove a point, but instead it only ends up in violence and death. This story is somewhat similar to the one I posted about the boys in Mexico... death of innocent people, and for what? Are you familiar with the government and FARC in Colombia? FARC stands for the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or in Spanish, Fuerzas Armadas Revolucinarias de Colombia.
